Events Programme 2008 
For all Sunday guided walks bring a packed lunch and wear appropriate footwear and clothing. For safety reasons the leader’s decision is final. All events £2 per person, at Dinodays and Roadshows adults accompanying children go free.  For further information contact us on 01947 881 000 or email contact@neyorksgeologytrust.com .

The membership of the Geology Trust costs £10 per person (£25 for a family) and runs from April to March. Membership entitles you to free events, our Newsletter Exposure, special members-only events and training opportunities.

Secrets in the Landscape 
The Trust have produced a high quality series of leaflets, mostly based around a walk and describing the areas of interest that you will come across on your travels (although there are exceptions such as the fossil guide).  Each leaflet costs £2.00 and is available directly from the Trust.

01 Burton Riggs Trail - Circular walk which starts and finishes at Burton Riggs Nature Reserve. Length: 7km (4.5 miles), 3.5 hours.  Grid ref: TA 032 838.  Not difficult, but can be muddy in parts.

02 Cleveland Dyke Drive - Drive which starts at the car park at junction of Goathland and Beck Hole roads, and finishes at Quarry House car park. Length: 50km (30 miles). Grid ref: NZ 852 028 to NZ 564 121.  Mixed difficulty, with some sections very easy with others moderate or difficult.

03 Highwood Brow - Circular walk which starts and finishes at Highwood Brow car park. Length: 5.5km (3.5 miles), about 3 hours. Grid ref: SE 943 889. Moderate difficulty, steep and/or muddy in parts.

04 Love Lane Quarries - Circular walk which starts and finishes in Pickering. Length: 2km (1.25 miles), 1.5 hours. Grid ref: SE 798 846. Moderate difficulty, very muddy in places and you should not approach the rock faces.

05 May Beck Trail - Circular walk which starts and finishes in May Beck car park. Length: 4km (2.5 miles), 2.5 hours. Grid ref: NZ 893 024. Not difficult except after heavy rain - very muddy in parts.

06 Waitecliff End Trail - Circular walk which starts and finishes at Bickley Gate car park in Dalby Forest. Length: 3km (2 miles), 2 hours. Grid ref: SE 912 911. Some steep and muddy sections.

07 Wykeham Trail - Circular walk with three options which starts and finishes at the Downe Arms Hotel car park. Length: 5.5km (3.5 miles), 2.5 hours. Grid ref: SE 964 834. Not difficult, but can be very muddy in parts after heavy rain.

08 Robin Hood's Bay Trail - Circular walk which starts and finishes at Robin Hood's Bay. Length: 10km (4.5 miles), 4 hours. Grid ref: NZ 952 052. Moderate difficulty with a couple of steep hills and can be muddy in parts.

09 Robin Hood's Bay Fossil Guide - A fossil guide to Robin Hood's Bay. Grid ref: NZ 952 052.

10 Cayton Bay Trail - Open beach guide which starts and finishes at Cayton Bay car park, by the surf shop. Length: 5km (3 miles), 2.5 hours. Grid ref: TA 069 842. An easy walk, although there may be some slippery rocks.

11 Beck Hole Esk Valley Trail - Circular walk which starts and finishes at Birch Hall Inn at Beck Hole (near Goathland). Length: 7km (4.5 miles), 3.5 hours. Grid ref: NZ 482 402. Moderate difficulty, with some steep slopes that can become muddy and slippery.

12 Beck Hole Moor Trail - Circular walk which starts and finishes at Birch Hall Inn at Beck Hole (near Goathland). Length: 6km (4 miles), 3 hours. Grid ref: NZ 482 402. Moderate difficulty, with some steep slopes that can become muddy and slippery.

13 Heart of Newton Dale Trail - Linear walk (with train journey option on North York Moors Railway), which starts at Levisham and finishes at Newton Dale Halt. Length: 7km (4.5 miles), 2.5 hours. Grid ref: SE 818 911. Not difficult, but some steep hills can get very muddy when wet.

14 Malton Vale Trail - Circular walk which starts and finishes at Malton Museum. Length: 5km (3 miles), 2 hours. Grid ref: SE 786 717. An easy walk.

15 Malton Town Trail - Circular walk which starts and finishes at St Michael's church. Length: 1km (0.5 miles), 1 hour. Grid ref: SE 786 717. A very easy walk.
