At the time of his birth in 1928, Reginald's family lived in Cowton near Hovingham, but shortly afterwards moved to Wetwang.

Having attended Bridlington Grammar School Reginald left at the age of 16 years to work for the Midland Bank, moving between branches at Pickering, Kirbymoorside, Middlesbrough and Hull before finally moving to the Scarborough Falsgrave branch in 1967 as manager.

His retirement in 1985 (Pictured above) followed almost 40 years of loyal service with the company.
He joined the Scarborough Field Naturalists' Society in 1972 and was a Committee Member from 1977 until 1979 and again in 1981. Serving as Society treasurer from 1982 until 1986 he continued to audit the books up until 1999.

Reginald also served as Chairman of the Fordon Chalk Bank Reserve for the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust. A keen gardener, he maintained a moth trap at is home in Box Hill resulting in the submission of some valuable Lepidoptera and other natural history records for the Wolds area. Reginald died on the 14th of November 2002.
